PROJECT: '41 Willys Street Rod
TREATMENT: TG-1 ThermaGuard Coating
INSTALLER: John Montagner / Bend, Oregon, USA

Here is what you will need to get started, TG-1 ThermaGuard, a paint roller and stiff paint brush.

Step 1: Start by cleaning the surfaces to be treated thoroughly to remove any dirt, debris or contaminates that might prevent the TG-1 product from bonding properly.

Step 2: Because the vehicle was already in paint, the installer chose to apply the TG-1 material by hand rather than with an SG-1 spray gun. A drop cloth was used to prevent any material from falling and landing on painted and polished surfaces as well as onto electronic components. The drop cloth will only make clean up easier when the job is done.

Step 3: Begin the installation by applying a thin layer of the TG-1 compound. The final film thickness should be no greater than 1/8" thick. At this thickness, an R-12 thermal control value can be achieved. Keep in mind that doubling the film thickness will not double the R value.

The finished installation...
